This Portrait of Igor Stravinsky, c. 1920 by Picasso was my first 'serious' task that I drew upside down! Yes, I was not allowed to turn it over until I completed it. The one on the right is a photocopy of the picture I had to replicate. It was a challenge drawing all the negative shapes but I kept reminding myself to let my negative thoughts go and just carry on. For the first time in my life I drew hands...real hands and not the stick figure kind! The second it was done I could not stop jumping for joy. I was so PROUD of my accomplishment...YAY!!

Woman with a confident stance... I had a container filled with lots of magazine cut outs, images, postcards, bits of text etc. I chose a few images and created a collage with them that I used as my inspiration for this piece which is still a work in progress.

My very first task that just makes my heart smile :) When I was instructed to draw a tree and myself, I sat there feeling so intimidated. I had no clue where to start or what to do. I scribbled lightly on the page. Made a few 'scratches' here and there. I happened to mention that I enjoy creating henna tattoos and that struck a chord with me! My creativity seemed to flow once I had anchored my thoughts and just went with it. It is quite evident that I have a penchant for fine intricate patterns...an interesting observation.
